Capping Patient List at Holbrook Surgery

Holbrook Surgery regrets that it is not at present able to register NHS patients.  This decision has been taken in order to ensure the practice can continue to safely provide NHS services to its currently registered patients.  The practice is not able to maintain a waiting list of patients who would like to register in the future.  Once Holbrook is able to commence accepting NHS registrations, this infiormation will be available at reception & on this website.

If you are not currently registered with a NHS GP locally & need to see a doctor or nurse you can attend the walk-in centre at Crawley Hospital- West Green Drive, Crawley, RH11 7DH or contact NHS England local area team on 01293 729298 for further advice.

Shingles Vaccination: Aged 70, 71, 72, 73, 78 or 79? Don't let shingles become a burning issue

If you are aged 70, 71, 72, 73, 78 or 79 you should make an appointment with the practice nurse for a shingles vaccination if you have not already had one.

Useful facts:

  • 90% of adults raised in the UK have had chicken pox.  After chicken pox the virus stays inside the body, and can recur as Shingles later in life.
  • There is a 1 in 4 chance you could develop Shingles at some point in your lifetime.

As you get older you are more likely to develop Shingles.

Shingles can cause a painful rash.  A number of people also suffer burning, stabbing nerve pain that for some can last weeks, months or even years.

The Department of Health now recommends Shingles vaccination for 70, 71, 72, 78 and 79 year olds through a National Immunisation Programme.

Measles: Are you protected?

In view of the national outbreak of measles in the UK, we are in the process of making sure all our patients are fully protected.

All patients above age 10 are recommended to have had 2 doses of MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) to be fully covered.  Please check your records and book an appointment with a nurse at Holbrook Surgery (01403 339818) for the MMR jab if you have not had 2 doses.
